November Photo a Day Challenge - Day 7

Looking back............................

This very blurry photo is of me when I was about 4 years old.  I'm in my big sisters bedroom wearing her heals and sunglasses.  I was cheeky and quite naughty - according to my mum.

I loved my big sister Michelle who is 15 years older than me - she treated me like her daughter and was always looking out for me (she still does).  She still loved me even after I took her red lipstick and drew all over her walls.

Her room always smelt of incense and musky perfumes.  The "interesting" red velvet curtains behind me were bought with her first paycheck as a pharmacy assistant, I loved the feel of these curtains and looking at them now in this photo they were probably covered in marks from my no doubt grubby hands.

I have this photo on my memo board in the kitchen - I look at it everyday.  It always makes me smile and have a wee giggle to myself.

And if you spoke to mum she would probably tell you that I'm still cheeky but thankfully not as naughty.

Did you have a favourite brother or sister growing up?  And more importantly - were you good or bad?!

    1. Mel - have you been speaking to my mum?! I was indeed feisty. I used to get into brawls with the neighbourhood bully - he used to pick on my younger brother who was so placid.

  4. Don't you love big sisters! I have two... My crafter in crime Faye is 9 years older than me and I used to sneak into her bedroom all the time and put her stilletos on and listen to her Belinda Carlisle and Wilson Phillips cassettes! Oh how I wanted to be her!!!

I also have a younger sister by 8 years and she used to do the same to me... God it drove me insane! But I love her to death! We're all BFF's and I wouldn't change any of it for the world!

  5. Hi Elaina, Thanks for your comments on my Blog - nice to meet you! We also live in a wine region on a farm but only 15 minutes to the city.

Gosh, aren't you cute! I have 2 younger sisters so have many a photo of them dressed like you! They were annoying growing up but I love them to bits now - can't have favourites but I am closer to the sister who is only 2 yrs younger than me as opposed to the one 8 years younger. I did always wish I had a big sister.

  6. What a fabulous picture - I'm sure I have stacks at my parents of me and my sisters doing silly things. I must have a hunt next time I go home.
