Crochet is back in a huge way at the moment. Amazing crochet craft is popping up all over the place. I've been trying to teach myself although I have'nt sat down for a while with it. I recently found my missing in action crochet hook in the vege garden. And the boys love throwing the wool around.
The following blogs have some great Crochet inspiration:
Such clever ladies!
I scored this granny square blanket yesterday. Love it. I have it slung over a chair in our bedroom although Bell is eyeing it up. It is a small single size with lots of pretty colour.
And this is another op shop find. You may have seen this is previous posts. This one is in George's bedroom and lives on an old retro chair.
If I could learn to make a simple cloth, I would be content with just that.
My new scrubbies from here.
My hands hate the cold. I get awful dry skin. These are my new best friends. I bought these from Amanda's Felt shop here.
Can anyone recommend a good hand creme, suitable for VERY sensitive skin?
Happy weekending lovelies!

Great op shop finds, Elaina. I'm actually eyeing up the UK-inspired pillow, did you make it? Love the fabric.
ReplyDeleteThe material is the Cath Kidston London scene. I bought the cushion off Trademe. Our room has a lot of London touches. It is where I met Mr H and holds a lot of great memories xo
DeleteLoving your newest crochet find and those gorgeously blue handwarmers!
ReplyDeleteWeleda Skin Food - it's the best. Comes in a green tube.
ReplyDeleteThose op shop finds are amazing xxx I'm almost finished hookin myself a pair of fingerless gloves
ReplyDeleteLove your new finds and the Erica Knight book looks pretty good - has it got some good projects?
ReplyDeleteCrochet is quite addictive and I love a portable project. I'm only a beginner, too. I found YouTube tutorials quite good, although holding the hook and yarn still feels a bit awkward. Attic24 is another gorgeous crochet/knitting blog.
ReplyDeleteAs for hand cream, I like Crabtree and Evelyn gardeners hand therapy. Or good old QV cream (by Ego)
I've terrible hands too-getting along nicely at the mo. with neitrogena foot cream of all things! The latest crochet rug you found is a beauty, love all the colours. I would love to master crochet one day. I've heard its easier than knitting-it needs to be for me!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend x
I've bought that same book a while ago. Isn't it lovely :) Thanks for the blog suggestions up the top! I'm off to explore...
ReplyDeleteSophie xo
Neutrogena has been brilliant for me. Yay go you with your crochet! Soon you'll be whipping up a storm! Love those blankets too. Oh and i'm sure you've seen her blog but Lucy of Attic24 is amazing :) Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteOh Sweetheart, I've only just said how much these little 'mentions' have really been helping me at the moment and I read this! Thank you! Crochet isn't easy, I'm finding it a real challenge but I'm just loving learning it....and it's soooo easy to unravel when you get it wrong unlike unpicking a seam! Keep at it, if I can do it so can you! :) x
ReplyDeleteLovely post - your fingerless gloves are so gorgeous - the colour and the buttons on them - I'm in love with my new knitted rainbow fingerless gloves too - it's the perfect season for them!
ReplyDeleteI give crochet lessons but I'm way too far away to help you. You can get some inspiration from my blog and a few tutorials if you need them here http://joeveryday19.blogspot.co.uk
ReplyDeletebut quite honestly if you have had a go at the gloves just keep plugging away at little projects ie handbags, tea cosies, gloves hats scarves etc. so that you can practise following a pattern without having to undo a massive project. Try not to make a blanket until you are really ready - they can destroy your soul if you do them too soon. If you want to make granny squares or small shapes aim for a cushion. There I think you are all set but keep up the great work your gloves are amazing. Jo x
Hi Jo, thank you for your lovely comment. I did'nt make the gloves - there is a link above to where I bought them. If only I were that clever! If you did'nt live on the other side of the world I would definately be asking you for lessons. Have a great weekend! xo
DeleteOh I love that blanket you scored! His room is stunning Elaina!!! I dig the fresh colors and retro chair you have in there! And I too would like to teach myself...my neighbor told me to get on a site that has lessons...I think I may just do it by book though. Let me know how it goes for you!!!
ReplyDeletewow I love this! Always wanted to learn! x

You have some lovely crochet here. It's fairly easy to learn if you do decide to try, just start with some granny squares for practice. I use neutrogena hand cream, it's really good. x
