School holiday slow...........

First day of the school holidays today.  We have had heavy heavy rain for the past few days.  But............we are hopeful that the weather will clear, fingers crossed.

We have no set plans.  No swimming workshops to drive into town for every morning.

The kids batteries need recharging to set them up for term 3.  So we will catch up with friends, walk in the vineyard, climb trees, scrape knees and splash in muddy puddles.

Today we will be making a hut in the lounge out of old sheets and set up the Thomas train track.

We plan to bake and dust of the craft box this week.

When the sun shines, we will head out to the beach and pop in to town for hot chocolates.

Mr H is taking the second week of the school holidays off.  Maybe a day trip somewhere might come about.

Who knows..........it's all about taking each day as it comes.  Staying in PJ's if we feel like it, adventuring, resting, movies on wet days and having fun.

A slow school holiday.  Making childhood memories.  Time spent together.

(Fingers crossed that there is not too much fighting!)

Are you at the start of school holidays?   What have you planned for the next couple of weeks?

Have you just finished yours?  Are you still sane?!

  2. Your holiday plan sounds positively perfect... exactly the sort of days and activities we love here too when there's no school routine to have to adhere to :) We are on the second and last week of holidays here :( My husband had last week off so it was nice to go on a few outings together. This week, us girls will be cooking, crafting, visiting Grandma and generally pottering around at home xx

I'm hoping the weather will improve and we can get outdoors, it's feeling very arctic down here at the moment. Although we have swimming this week it's still nice to have a change in pace, s l o w is what we're aiming for too. Julie x

  6. Sounds like a wonderful way to spend the holidays. This is all ahead of me, as Cohen starts school next year. I'm excited and nervous! Trying to make the most of having my big four year old home with me for the rest of this year. How things will change. xx

  7. Sounds like a perfect recipe for the School holidays! We are halfway through ours so just this week left and it has been good so far. Oh and your oppy blankets in your last Post are fantastic, still amazes me how cheaply you can find them secondhand when SO much work goes into making them - I often feel like 'rescuing' them from the Oppy's purely for that reason. Have a lovely holiday! Mel x

    1. It is a complete fluke how my photos turn out. I do everything on Auto and don't "edit" them. xo
