Op shop showoff.........linen stash

I was thinking a few weeks ago that I never come across any great linen tea towels or table cloths.  I see some amazing ones on Trademe but they are always too expensive.  $20 for one linen tea towel plus postage.....I think not!

So imagine my delight when I called into an op shop in town (and one that I don't visit very often) and they had a table set up with piles of doilies and linen.

I came away with serviettes (50cents a pair), tea towels ($2 each) a couple of them don't look like they have been used.  The small square table cloth was $2.   And my favourite finds, the two Australian themed table cloths.  The largest one with the map was $8 - more than happy with that price.  The fabric is a heavy linen and by the look and feel of it I don't think it has been used.  Same with the pretty Australian wild flowers table cloth which was $4.

One great linen stash makes for a very happy lady!

Found anything great lately? Pop over and share it with Max.

  9. what a great haul!.
what is it with trademe?. i'm starting to look on it more in prep for my move back to NZ in Nov, and the prices are crazy - alot of greedy people me thinks!. half that stuff listed would be a 10th of the price here on ebay in the UK. makes me want to buy that £1 vintage sideboard and pay the extra couple of hundred pounds to ship it, instead of those ridiculous prices!.

    1. Hello! I found these all in the SPCA op shop in town. I usually don't pop in there as it is out of the way I my usual route and it isn't pram friendly. So glad I went in that day! Tom was with me and he found some much coveted Minion toys. Stock up for sure! Good luck with your move back. I moved back from the UK 5 years ago. xo

  10. Wonderful. I love love love love love the tablecloth with the map of Australia. I would frame that and put it on the wall - if I had a space to put it! - never mind on a table. So lovely. Are you going to tea towel with them or turn them into something - of "just" collect them? They are great whatever you decide and so lovely to see someone collecting and enjoying these things. xx

  13. Is that a dodo on the Mauritius tea towel? :) had to laugh at the Scotch broth recipe on the tea towel. It's one of my Dads faves (&. I used to hate it as a kid!)
