Retro Blue

Be still my beating heart!  I bought this treasure of a set home this week from my favourite Retro store in town.  It wasn't cheap, this shop has beautiful retro items but they are not op shop prices.  I paid this set off over a few weeks.  So glad I did though.

The colours caught my eye, blue being my favourite colour and I love anything with a flower or three on it.  It's a Johnson's Bros of England set complete with six cups and saucers, milk jug, sugar bowl and the beautiful coffee pot.  The flowers look like they have been hand painted.  An absolute treasure.

Bought anything beautiful lately?  Does the hubby know?  Mine doesn't!!!

Happy weekending.....

  1. Squeal, it's gorgeous. I'm very partial to a coffee pot (or five). They look so elegant. And to get the cups and saucers too! Lovely find. Just go onto hubby about how useful they are.....xx

  9. They are fabulous and brilliant to get a full set!! I don't tell my hubby everything but he does ready my blog, so if I don't say on the blog how much something cost it means it cost more than I want him to know ;-)

  11. What a coincidence, I saw this very set last week at the local church fair. It was sold for £20 and I am still cross with myself that I wasn't decisive enough. Typical. Enjoy your beautiful beautiful set! x

  12. Oh this one is gorgeous. I am not a big lover of things retro, but I think I would have seriously considered getting this too. How long do you have to hide it from the hubby, until you can bring it out and say " oh this old set, I've had it for ages". Enjoy:)
