Be still my beating heart! I bought this treasure of a set home this week from my favourite Retro store in town. It wasn't cheap, this shop has beautiful retro items but they are not op shop prices. I paid this set off over a few weeks. So glad I did though.
The colours caught my eye, blue being my favourite colour and I love anything with a flower or three on it. It's a Johnson's Bros of England set complete with six cups and saucers, milk jug, sugar bowl and the beautiful coffee pot. The flowers look like they have been hand painted. An absolute treasure.
Bought anything beautiful lately? Does the hubby know? Mine doesn't!!!
Happy weekending.....

Squeal, it's gorgeous. I'm very partial to a coffee pot (or five). They look so elegant. And to get the cups and saucers too! Lovely find. Just go onto hubby about how useful they are.....xx

ReplyDeleteWow they are beautiful! Great score. Tell hubby you could be buying something much worse!!
ReplyDeleteI am sooooooo jealous. What a gorgeous set!
ReplyDeleteThey are fabulous and brilliant to get a full set!! I don't tell my hubby everything but he does ready my blog, so if I don't say on the blog how much something cost it means it cost more than I want him to know ;-)
ReplyDeleteHa! That's why I haven't mentioned the price, just in case he reads this post ;-)
DeleteAbsolutely amazing! I love this set!
ReplyDeleteWhat a coincidence, I saw this very set last week at the local church fair. It was sold for £20 and I am still cross with myself that I wasn't decisive enough. Typical. Enjoy your beautiful beautiful set! x
ReplyDeleteWe could have had matching sets! xo
DeleteOh this one is gorgeous. I am not a big lover of things retro, but I think I would have seriously considered getting this too. How long do you have to hide it from the hubby, until you can bring it out and say " oh this old set, I've had it for ages". Enjoy:)
ReplyDeleteJust calling in to say hello, haven't commented on here much lately, but still enjoy seeing these gems that you seem to find. I have my eye on some artwork, it's all totally out of my price range but we can but hope, right?! One day...
ReplyDeleteHey you!!! This set is GORGEOUS!!!! It is so fresh and pretty....ahhhhh....it just screams garden to me!!! You made the right choice on spending a little more on these pieces as they are definitely one of kind! And you had me chuckling about the husband bit! My hubs doesn't know about my recent shop stop either! Sending all things beautiful your way dear friend! Nicole xoxo
ReplyDeleteIt is beautiful!!!! The flowers are so pretty and I love the blue. I can totally understand why you wanted it and saved for it! I would love to sneak things like this into my house if only I had the space for them! xx
ReplyDeleteGosh it is simply gorgeous! somethings don't need to be shared right?
ReplyDeleteI'm sure my Mum had this set only in that distinctive 70's orange and brown colour way! A real blast from the past! You were lucky to find this I think, it is fabulous, :)
