Look! Roses from my garden. My brother showed me how to prune a few months ago and it has made a huge difference. I'm not afraid to attack plants with the pruners now! It really is worth the short amount of time where your plants look slightly sad and bald.
I went to my sewing lesson on Wednesday. I love going. The material, the conversation and those ladies are a bit of a highlight for me. They don't know it yet, but once my lessons finish I will be finding every excuse possible to call into the shop to see Fiona and Noeline. I was shown how to do triangles, not as scary as I initially thought they would be. I am however, very familiar with the unpicker.
Craft night! I took Bell along to a Christmas Craft evening this week. We made bunting and crackers. So nice to be able to spend some quality time with my girl. She loves her craft and so really enjoyed the night. We still need to finish our crackers. Amazing how quickly the time went. We popped into town for hot chocolates on the way home too.
The humble whoopie cushion. The toy of choice at the moment in our house. The boys have one each and love them. Anyone who visits gets the grand demonstration. At only $2 per cushion - bargain fun!
(See the wheelie case? We are having fun with this for a toy review. I will be posting the photos and review next week...............and giving one away to a lucky reader).
I bought this card in town this week, I will frame it and put it up in the boys room. Perfect colours for their blue room.
Drove past the beach this morning on the way to swimming and saw the first of Cruise Ships for the summer anchored in the harbour. It was a grey and rainy morning, but the boat still looked spectacular.
Dodgy looking pastry, but jeepers this bacon and egg pie was amazing. An easy Friday night dinner. Washed down with a glass (or two) of bubbles. The weekend is here, lots planned. Feeling excited.
It's been busy here. Not a lot of time for visiting this space or others. The usual house, garden, family commitments, school, kindy, playcentre, swimming and afternoon activities have been making for full days. November is busy for us.
Tired children, and mum. I've been falling asleep putting George to bed in the evenings - that time of night is my blogging time. I've missed it.
Have a wonderful weekend lovely readers!
Linking up with Em.
Your roses look amazing! Love all that crafting that's going on too! Hope you have a good weekend xx
ReplyDeleteThose flowers are such a vibrant yellow. I really wish I had a green thumb. Cute crafts too, isn't it a joy to do these things alongside your children? I considered making my own crackers for Renee's birthday party but it just ended up being quicker to buy them, please tell me they were time-consuming to make? November is a busy time for us too, I hope you find some downtime in amongst the rush of this month.
ReplyDeleteoh, those bright and beautiful yellow roses have really cheered me up. I adore yellow. Your sewing is great! It's so nice to have something to enjoy that is yours and yours alone. I made my first hat in four years for Melbourne Cup this week which made me really realise how much I missed the meditative element of millinery - or just having a hands-on craft in general I guess. Your bacon and egg pie brought back so many memories for me! My mum used to make it all the time for us growing up. I think it must be just a NZ thing. No-one over here eats it xx
ReplyDeleteGreat photos x happy weekend to you too

What stunning roses!! I'd be putting vases of them all over my house if they were mine :) Sounds like lots has been happening over your way... a bit like our place at the moment... xx
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful roses, such a glorious colour. We don't get a lot up here unless they are very tolerant to the humidity. And so excited for you with your sewing classes, I am hoping to join one next year when both my kidlets are at school, need to learn how to do a zip and button and things like that. mel x

ReplyDeleteWe had a grey and rainy morning on Sunday here - very similar colours. I love that picture. And I love your crown lynn plates - we have that print up at the beach house where I went every summer, it makes me very nostalgic! x
