Monday's child

Monday's Child

Monday's child is fair of face

Tuesday's child is full of grace

Wednesday's child is full of woe

Thursday's child has far to go

Friday's child is loving and giving

Saturday's child works hard for his living

And the child that is born on the Sabbath day, is bonny and blithe, and good and gay.

Which day was your child/children born on?  Mine were all thankfully born over the weekend. Albeit all atleast 10 days late.

We are loving this lovely old Hilda Boswell book.  I mentioned it in my Things I'm loving post on Friday.

It belonged to Mr H as a child and at the moment it is a favourite bedtime book of Tom's.

I don't seem to hear many classics, nursery rhymes or fairy tales that often anymore.  So it is great to have this wonderful book to read to our family.

The illustrations are just beautiful.

Below are a few of my favourites.

  1. This post actually brought a tear to my eye...my grandma used to resight Monday's child to us when we were young. She had an old rag doll that was named Wednesday and I would ask her why Wednesday looked sad...then she would read this to me! Love your book thanks for sharing and bringing back such a sweet memory!!! Have a great week!!!
