Strawberry Santas

Look at these beauties!

I have been looking for ideas for Christmas treats.  We have a few shared morning teas coming up and with the abundance of strawberries around at the moment I thought these strawberry Santas would be a fun idea.

I will give these ago and let you know/see how they turn out.  I have a feeling they won't be looking like the ones below but will have a go anyway!

Are you feeling the Christmas buzz yet?

Do you have any tasty Christmas treat ideas that you want to share or leave a link to below in the comment section?

Happy December everyone!

What you need:

Large carton of strawberries
1 cup of cream cheese, softened
3-4 tablespoons of powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

1. Rinse strawberries and cut around the top of the strawberry. Remove the top, (enough for a hat). Clean out the whole strawberry with a paring knife.  Prep all of the strawberries and set aside.

2. In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until creamy. Add cream cheese mix to a piping bag or Ziploc with the corner snipped off. Fill the strawberries with cream cheese mixture.

3. Once strawberries are filled, top with the 'hats.' Decorate according to photo.

4. If not serving immediately, refrigerate until serving.

  6. Brilliant idea - we only have imported strawberries in the UK at this time of year and they're a bit costly - but I think I may try just a few the kids would love them.

  7. Oh they are so cute (and rather yummy looking!) Such a fab idea. I wonder if I did these in the summer here if they would pass for summer garden gnomes..
